About Larry Karpenko

About Larry Karpenko, Christian songwriter and creator of ministry resources.

“I create music and ministry resources to help people experience God’s goodness, healing, and hope. My work blends songwriting, teaching, and storytelling to serve churches, families, and anyone seeking encouragement.”

For Larry Karpenko, music has always been more than melody or craft — it has been a place to wrestle, reflect, and grow. From early songwriting experiments to full‑scale orchestral works, Larry’s creative life has been shaped by questions, wonder, and a desire to make music that speaks to the whole person.

What began as simple ideas at a piano or notebook gradually became a lifelong pursuit of writing songs that help people feel seen, understood, and encouraged. Along the way, Larry studied with songwriting professor Pat Pattison and live‑performance coach Tom Jackson, experiences that deepened both his artistic voice and his understanding of how music can shape hearts in quiet, transformative ways.

Today, Larry’s catalog spans 35 songs in the CCLI licensing database, original works for orchestra, brass ensemble, and solo cello, expressive solo piano pieces, and a growing collection of pop‑influenced and cinematic compositions. His six full‑length albums — including the Christmas project Celebrate the King — reflect a creative life that refuses to be boxed in by genre or expectation.

In 2026, Larry released a double‑album experience that had been quietly forming for more than a decade. “Work on these songs and melodies began over ten years ago,” Larry shares. “In God’s perfect timing, I was encouraged that it was finally time to share the music.”
Child of God offers joyful, Scripture‑rooted songs for children and families, while Light Up the World brings a deeper, more mature sound for older youth. Together, they form a multi‑age worship journey designed to help listeners grow, shine, and live with purpose.

Across every style and season, Larry continues to explore new sounds and new questions — unafraid of blending genres or writing music that speaks to the heart, mind, spirit, and imagination. His hope is simple: that listeners find comfort, courage, and connection in the music, and perhaps even rediscover the love and light that have carried him through his own journey.
